We have a big thunderstorm going on outside...huge claps of thunder every few moments, and plenty of lightning. No rain here, although we just drove through a torrential downpour at Green Lake on our way home from picking up a truckload of hay. Ordinarily, thunderstorms are one of my favorite things...but with the number of forest fires burning in BC at the moment, this one is making me nervous. In suburbia, forest fires are something you watch with a detatched interest on the telly. Here, you can see the smoke on the horizon when you're going down the hill on Hwy 97 into 100 Mile. People are saying it's from the fire near Anahim Lake.
We've unloaded and tarped the hay in the midst of gale force winds, and have our fingers very firmly crossed, hoping the lightning doesn't ignite any fires in our area. Please keep your fingers crossed too.
