My Greatest Talent

I don't consider that I have many special talents. I make good lasagne. I've managed to keep a blog fairly up to date for almost two years, which is somewhat of a record, as most literary projects fizzle quite quickly. I drive a stick shift quite well. I haven't hit the house with the tractor for several months.

The area where I really excell is in spotting four-leaf clovers. I can be standing outside having a nice conversation with someone and suddenly bend down and pluck a mutant stem of clover. Find me a clover patch, and I'll find you a four-leaf clover lickety split. There are testaments to my clover finding talents in several of my large heavy books. I used to press them. I'm not very superstitious, but when it comes to luck, I'd like it on my side. My paternal grandmother was intensely superstitious, according to my dad. One quarter of my genes also belonged to her, so maybe it did rub off just a little.

Here are two specimens, picked fresh today.

I have never seen a four-leaf clover and have wasted hours in my life looking for one. You must enjoy blogging to continue with it. I have enjoyed reading your adventures.

I also seem to remember that you were quite adept at manufacturing "fake" four leaf Clovers !

If you ever want to take Buck for a ride, you could trot through Lone Butte to the other side, pass the butte, over the railroad tracks and presto! - you're at our Irish Lake place. Just ride on in. Let Buck get his fill of fresh grass (we have grass/hay and no way of cutting it). He can get a long drink at the lake while you enjoy yourself picking four leaf clovers or enjoy yourself in the cordwood cabin at the lake edge. The walls are 18" thick so it's cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
Our kids, (daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter) from Surrey are going there this long weekend.

I will email the people who rent the house that a lady on a horse, maybe leading a donkey, is very welcome anytime.
We're only about 3 kilometers apart so it's a nice little ride.

Can't say as I've ever really looked for a 4 leaf clover ... I spend most of my time pulling them out of our lawn and garden! Urgh!

Who'd've thunk four leaf clover finding was genetic?!

Thanks for the offer, Judy! I'd like to check out the cordwood cabin; never seen one before.
