Blue Thursday

Let me start this post by saying that I love the life that I have here in the Cariboo with Mike. I love our property, our animals, our surroundings, our town, my work, our lifestyle. I’ve made some new friends this year. This place is well and truly my home.

Today though, I’m missing each and every person who is dear to me and who is absent from my life at the moment. I miss Jen, who is on the other side of the world, so much today that my heart might break. I miss Mike who is days away but heading homeward so much that I ache. I’d give anything right now to have a cup of tea with my mom and dad. I miss my brothers and my sister in law. I miss family gatherings and being able to hug my dear nieces, my cousins, my aunt & uncle.

I miss Karen, and Debbie, and Nancy, and Barb, and Jackie, and Jayne, and Janet, and Margaret and Carol.

This is all brought on by the season, and by it being Karen’s birthday and being unable to attend the traditional birthday gathering of friends. It’s brought on by having all my Christmas stuff in storage, and by having no room for a tree, and no lights up because I can’t manage our stupid heavy ladder. I’m sure hormones are playing a significant role in my pity party too, but there’s not much I can do about that.

Doubtless things will look brighter tomorrow…but today they’re looking a little blue.

Chin up, you've got Tucker to cheer you up! All I have is rain, and more rain in the future.

Sorry to hear you are having a blue day! I guess one can't avoid the odd blue day. They sneak up on one!

It was a pouring down rain day at the coast here but we went out to Abbotsford anyway. D is just cooking supper now ... yes a late one ... one of his pasta concoctions. It'll be good I have no doubt.

I hear ya! Pity parties are O.K., just don't let it hang on too long. Anyway, get out there and take some more photos for us. What is Buck doing today?

We love you too, my friend and missed you at our gathering. I was tired and it was pouring so we cancelled our Vandusen light tour and just sat in the front room reminising and laughing at our journal enteries of birthdays gone by. Do you have the first journal? Everyone thought I did but I don't think you ever got it back to me. We ate appies (yes, Deb brought crab dip), drank mulled wine (and other assorted alcohol), Dwight had surprised me with a wonderful assorted platter of tasty things and we watched Survivor too! Would you believe that every single gift from my friends (except you) was candles??? We laughed everytime I opened another package. People definitely knew what I love and needed! It half snowed half rained here yesterday all day. I took Sharon for a hardhat and steeltoed boot tour of my new office. Say hi to Rupert, Buck, Gill, Lucy, Jasper, and Tucker and Mike when you see them...oops...forgot the cat! Love you.

I can relate to your missing important friends and family at special times of the year. Hope the sun shines on you soon! People aren't quite so far way on cyberspace.

Thanks for the snow update ... I was hoping you would ... we're just wishing the report would have been "LOTS OF SNOW!" Oh well, there's still time .....

Question and blog comments:
I would like to know how Jennifer and Ruth inserted their photo in their comments. By drag and drop? I have a pic I really like to ad to my postings. (of me and Dusty)
Thank you in advance.

The pics in the comments come from Jen and Ruth's profile photos on their own blogs...I see you've started a blog too, Elaine...you can upload a photo in "layout", I believe. I'll look forward to following your goings on!
