Season's Greetings!

I woke to the first snowfall of the season this morning! We had heavy, wet flakes for a couple of hours, then some rain.

When the rain stopped, I decided to cut back some perenniels in the flower bed, and then finished digging out the last of the potatoes from the garden. There are still rutabagas, carrots, turnips and parsnips to bring in.

Mike and Cody are in northern Ontario today. The dogs and I are staying cozy inside this afternoon. There's a fire going in the woodstove, and the kettle is on for an afternoon cuppa.

They threatened us with snow tomorrow I hope they are wrong. We are ready for winter and the woodstove is going but it would be nice if it held off a bit longer.

Oh ... snow already!!!! Yikes, I need to get the garlic planted! Been lulled into a false sense of reality with all this warm weather.

My garlic isn't in either. I've been looking at it every day for a month meaning to do it. I have a day off Wednesday, so it'll go in rain, shine or snowstorm!

Yep, the Mexican/German restaurant was the one! What a combo!! ... and right, only in a small town.

Every time I think of retiring up north in order to afford more land, I remember how looooonnnnggggg those winters were!
We've had our first frost, but I sure hope the snow is a long way off - in fact, it would be nice to have a winter with NO snow for a change!

Now this is funny - we drove through your area on the very day you put up this post, on our way to Jasper. There was just a dusting of snow melting away here and there. It was beautiful.
