Another Sunrise

Here's the scene that met me & the dogfaces when we went out this morning to take Buck and Rupert their morning hay. Sunrises this time of year can be breathtaking.

A little more snow today... slightly warmer weather forecast for the coming days though. Our new and very fabulous woodbox (thanks, Gary!) is filled with enough firewood to last two or three days, so I'll be staying cozy and warm. I love wood heat...it's constant and comforting.

It looks like the forest is on fire. How dramatic! What time is this? Your days must be quite short now.

A beautiful sunrise. Thanks for the weather update! Wood heating IS lovely! A new woodbox ... I'm jealous!

This was just before 7am ... it's dark by about 5 in the afternoon, when our days are at their shortest, it's getting dark at 4.

My wife tells me that its "Santa Claus making cookies" when the sky lights up like that. Of course I don't believe in Santa, and the saying has always confused me because I would think such a saying would apply to the northern lights. But children don't know the difference I guess.
